Term 1 is a 8 week term of art classes running in Ninderry every Friday from 9am-12 noon.

We love to pick unique projects that give kids a chance to experiment with design, imagination, builds and art. Term 2 is focussing fully on the process of creating a unique costume, from design through to final creation. These designs can be an original character or a character based on a favourite character from a film or book.

Week 1 - Discuss favourite characters or a unique character we are interested in exploring through the art of costume creation. Study and discuss some well known costume designers, based on work in theatre and film. Discuss how imagery, props and elements of a costume can give impressions of character. Design a character costume using drawing work and materials for the design, using imagery and any props/ inspiration brought from home as well as imagery we can source on the day.

My art classes are designed to create a fun space for kids to explore their creativity and imaginations. I love to allow children to lead the way when it comes to their art, without too much overt instruction, helping with techniques and skills when required… but allowing them the space to explore and experiment, to find their own unique artistic expression.
