Term 3 2025, Thursdays 930-12noon - Giant 3D Cardboard Reef Sculpture inspired by Josh Gluckstein

A$300.00

Set on a beautiful 3 acre property just 4 minutes drive from Yandina, students will enjoy creating under a shaded area amongst nature.

Term 3 on Thursdays is an 8 week term of art classes running in Ninderry every Thursday from 930am - 12 noon, starting on Thursday 17th July.

Over this 8 week term we will create our biggest and most ambitious 3D project to date as a group, a 1.5m wide by 2m high coral reef made entirely from cardboard. This project will test your artists design, math, science and collaboration skills. Whilst we work on this project we will engage in many discussions about ocean conservation and what this means for us all. We will discuss how art can be a perfect platform for creating discussion on important topics. Our end goal is to have our sculpture displayed at Sea Life. I will also work with the students to craft a letter to Sea Life about our project and why our sculpture would make a great addition to the site. We will also discuss other options outside of this for exhibiting the work.

We will work as a whole group, as well as split into smaller groups and sometimes individually to work on various design parts of the overall sculpture.

My art classes are designed to create a fun space for kids to explore their creativity and imaginations. I love to allow children to lead the way when it comes to their art, without too much overt instruction, helping with techniques and skills when required… but allowing them the space to explore and experiment, to find their own unique artistic expression.

Ages 10-16 years. Maximum 14 students
